Why Podcasts on Cassette?
While other audio formats might be dominated by streaming, listeners still have the option to pick up physical media. This isn't true with podcasts. Its a novel way to enjoy audio and I hope to encourage podcasters to make their shows available on cassette and for listeners to seek them out.
How can I get these cassettes?
Below is a list of podcasters who are offering their shows on cassette. Often these will just be the equavialent of mixtapes, but maybe that will change if this option gets more popular.
How do I get listed here as a podcaster?
First you need to make your show available on a cassette format in some form. Then email me (I know its a weird address) with the page where you have instructions on how people can get these cassettes, a 500x500 image representing your offering, and a short description, and I will add a link to your show below. Make sure to include a link back to Podcasts on Cassette. Here is an example on my own site.
Where can I get a cassette and a cassette player or recorder?
You might want to browse thrift stores. If you don't have one in your area eBay has a large selection and Amazon still sells cassettes, casette players, and cassette recorders.
